“Tremembé”, a new series on Prime Video, focuses on real crimes and the daily life inside the prison, exploring the relationships among inmates known nationwide for high-profile crimes. The production is based on two books by journalist Ulisses Campbell: “Elize Matsunaga: The woman who dismembered her husband” and “Suzane: murderer and manipulator”.
The main criminals portrayed are Suzane von Richthofen (Marina Ruy Barbosa), Anna Carolina Jatobá (Bianca Comparato), Elize Matsunaga (Carol Garcia), Daniel Cravinhos (Felipe Simas) and his brother Cristian Cravinhos (Kelner Macêdo). The stories of these crimes have resurfaced on social media, raising questions that intrigue the public: where are the convicts now? What are they doing currently? How is their life outside of prison?
Suzane von Richthofen
Convicted of the murder of her parents in 2002, Suzane received a 39-year prison sentence, later reduced to 34 years. During her time in Tremembé, she resumed her studies in Law, a course she was already taking before being arrested, and since 2024 she has been attending classes in person.
In January 2023, Suzane progressed to the open regime and began serving the remainder of her sentence in freedom. Currently, she is the owner of the microenterprise “Su Entrelinhas”, an online store that sells customized flip-flops and other artisanal products, with prices ranging from R$150 to R$180.
Elize Matsunaga
Convicted of the murder and dismemberment of her husband, businessman Marcos Kitano Matsunaga, Elize was sentenced to 19 years and 11 months in 2012. During her time at the Women’s Penitentiary of Tremembé, she took part in professional courses and worked in the production of uniforms within the facility.
In May 2022, she was released to the open regime and left the prison. Since then, she has been living in Franca, in the countryside of São Paulo, leading a discreet life. She has worked as a rideshare driver and also dedicated herself to the production and sale of clothes and accessories for pets. Elize keeps a low profile, but has participated in documentaries and interviews recounting her version of the crime and life in prison. Currently, she is on parole, following judicial determinations and trying to rebuild her life away from the spotlight.
Alexandre Nardoni and Anna Carolina Jatobá
The couple was convicted for the death of five-year-old Isabella Nardoni in 2008. Alexandre received a sentence of 31 years and 1 month and 10 days for triple-qualified homicide and procedural fraud, while Anna Carolina Jatobá received 26 years and 8 months for the same crimes. Public information indicates that the couple separated during the sentences. Judicial documents show that, since 2022, Anna Carolina is listed as single.
After being released from prison, Alexandre started a sole proprietorship and works as a sales promoter in his father’s company, earning a salary of R$2,500 in São Paulo. Anna Carolina lives in the countryside of the state, near the Paraíba Valley, and since moving to the open regime, she complies with legal requirements of regular court appearances and travel restrictions. Both lead discreet personal lives, with no public appearances or records of new relationships, and there is no information about their relationship with the children, who are currently being raised by Alexandre’s family.
